The flu (or something!) slammed into me a day or so ago – which is probably why I felt so bad this past weekend. It was already on its way. Hopefully things will be back to normal later this week.

Said the 4 year old, upon disembarking into a completely different place after his first cognizant ride in an elevator. Sometimes kids make up for all their other annoyances just with wonder.

I mean, Iowa. Who’da thought? A (primarily) white state that was pivotal in ensuring the potentially first Black president got a fair hearing in the rest of the US. And now becoming the first Midwest state to strike down anti-marriage equality laws. Good for them.
