Just yapping
We’ve had something like 35 days near or over 100 degrees so far this summer and much less than normal rainfall the past few years. Of course, this being California – with our ever green lawns and ubiquitous swimming pools – you’d never know it, if not for all the melting people.

The farmers are all in a tizzy because Sacramento is going to be rationing water, in order to redirect it somewhere else… Southern Cal, I think. For some reason. I’ve heard the news reports but for some reason the words refuse to stick in my mind.Anyway, I’m afraid I’m more worried about my utility bills.
I realized that I haven’t written anything about Senator Kennedy’s passing. I think I don’t really know what to say except rest in peace and that I’m sorry for his family and friend’s loss. The Kennedy’s, of course, have been in the background of my life since I was born, in one way or another, but I’ve never really felt the almost personal connection to them that some seem to feel. It is rather sad to see the passing of an era, though. Makes me feel old.
Every time I remember that we can’t get rid of Ahnold for another year or more, I get a stomach ache.
