no wonder they targeted her
Shirley Sherrod’s husband is Charles Sherrod. Yeah, that one. A SNCC organizer 0f the Albany Movement. Who was recently interviewed as part of the 50th anniversary of the SNCC. Talk about paying their dues. Who, along with Shirley, apparently was involved in a long-running court case involving Black farmers that was recently settled - which involvement REALLY has the wingnuts in an orgasmic frenzy of smearing.
I think I’m just a little too old to believe in that many coincidences.

I am with you. No coincidence here and thank God they profiled the right person for the job. Shirley, Charles, SNCC, The Albany Movement and the southern farmers co-op movement have been pulled over to the side of the road one too many times. Night riders trump the USDA everytime. Shirley has been a cool cucumber on all the news networks. Maybe they better start interviewing her on historic struggles to preserve family farms so America can re-learn how to feed herself. Love and Light!

Hi Malechite, and thanks for commenting!
Yes, one good thing to come out of this mess is that more people are hearing both Sherrod’s truly impressive history – AND putting a face to the struggle to save Black (and White) family farms.
Not to mention the Albany Project, which I was not all that well informed about myself. It is simply vile what the right is attempting to do to her and, by extension, the Black farmers who have been waiting so many years for restitution.
